Theme- The Collective Unconscious

       >Reference to the YouTube video "Powers of  Ten"
              *"we are passengers on this spaceship Earth"

       > Reference to the book "The Desire of Botany" or might be "The Botany of Desire" (club member was not sure)
              * book was brought up to make the point that things are not linear. Things are all intertwined in a web.
       
       >We feel certain vibes that help us connect to how others are feeling on a given day
              *This may be too tied down by geography

       >It is pointing to our need to help other people
              *is the collective unconscious good?


       >Inventions
              *Is economic prosperity the common factor that humans share?
              *Capitalism: Ideally individual does forward and as a consequence others reap the benefits
              *BUT the collective unconscious exists within other fields other than inventions i.e. spirituality and culture

      >Natural systemic change is the collective unconscious.
                *"when it starts to seem familiar then you have to change"

      >Self-fulfilling prophecies
             *"the end" is coming because we were promised an end.

      >Collective Premonition
             *In Nicaragua during WWII there was a general feeling among people that evil had to be conquered in Europe.
              *a random number generator that is sensitive to people's thoughts and emotions showed spikes in its graphs days leading up to 9/11.
              *"we all know a piece of the puzzle"- A study showed that when large numbers of groups were asked an exact number the average of every one's number was seen to be exact.

      >Opposing View:
              *common questions will get the same answer
              *long range weapons in North America and Europe developed from the need to kill from far away
